Our Vision

When in the course of Libertarian events, it becomes necessary for our party to expand beyond the written word which has connected us to the public, we must assume among the powers of television, cable, and the internet, the equal station which the major parties have enjoyed.

We hold these truths to be self-evident, all media choices are NOT created equal that among these media choices are newspaper, radio, and television.

For far to long the LP has relied primarily on the written word as our number one method of reaching the public. Sadly the average American now spends 10 times as much time watching television as they do reading.

It's time to take our message to the people. Commercials will create a buzz about the LP among the general public in exactly the same way the written word doesn't. Many of us get jazzed about reading and came to the party through the the written word, but the government school educated masses are more effectively reached through television. It is an important strategic decision to move into the homes of people through a medium that already has their attention.

It will not be our primary goal to educate people through our commercials, but rather to make them aware of us, create a buzz, and give on impression that we are the 'good guys' and are serious contenders.

Our commercials will lead people to other resources like the web and books if they are interested in learning about our philosophy. But first we must be OUT there where the people are channel surfing!

We now have the opportunity to present the libertarian message in a fun and exciting way to millions of people for very small amounts of money. Imagine having libertarian commercials playing in every state, and every candidate having their commercials on the internet.

We want to see libertarian commercials as often as Ginsu knife commercials, whether they are for specific candidates, or general name recognition building.

Join us in the next wave of party growth.

Sincerely,
Mark Hilgenberg and Doug Scribner
